Yes, it's a full invert error - this is not Photoshopped.

Here's a cool pair: one is inverted and the other is not. Wonder how that happened!

This vanity plate is incorrectly captioned as Apportioned - that type would have a TRK prefix, and can't come as a vanity anyway (as far as I know).

Took me a second to figure this one out, but there's something missing from this plate - either an owl or a catmount.

Subtle but important error on this one - this plate is a truck plate without the TRK prefix. The result is a slightly off-center number disguised as a passenger plate. However, there are 3 reasons why I'm nearly positive this is an error: 1) The slight but noticeable shift to the right, leaving just enough room for the TRK prefix 2) Truck plates are currently in the B series, passenger plates are in the E series, and this plate is a natural '07. 3) It was mounted to a Ford F-150 pickup, which should have a truck plate.

Here's an interesting error: a standard truck plate with a Special Purpose caption. Special Purpose Truck plates always begin with S (see the page for this type) - they are not formatted like regular plates. Furthermore, this plate was on a private truck, not a piece of special equipment.

Another caption error. This one is more obvious - this low number passenger plate on a VW Golf should definitely not have a State Agency caption.

This is a proposed design for a future plate, but it's embossed! This is the only embossed plate from Vermont I have ever seen.

Interesting color choice.

Again... interesting idea.

This is a fairly unpleasant design for Vermont plates if you ask me.

This one is even worse.

This is a pretty appealing design when properly debossed, but it's not very appetizing as a flat plate.
UPDATE: Vermont was supposed to switch to flat plates but apparently has decided not to. I am no longer sure whether a new design (even if debossed or embossed) is in the works.
